Non-contact determination of geometries of three dimensional objects

The method immerses the object (4) under test in a fluid medium (10) contained in a vessel (2). The optical characteristics of the object and the fluid medium differ in such a manner, that a contrast results at the transition between the object and the fluid medium. The contour curves of the object of the same height are optically determined with the fluid level. The optical information is further processed. Several contour curves of the object are taken, and from these the spatial object contour is determined. The distance between the optical determining system and the fluid level is maintained constant.
