The height adjustment device includes a guide (3) provided with a preferably integral stop (10) with which the support part of a holder fixable on the lower edge of the window pane interacts. The stop is preferably on the top end area of the guide rail. The height of the window pane is adjusted by moving the support part against the stop and turning a set screw which sets the exact height position of the window. The stop can be formed by stamping or imprinting the guide rail.
