TITANIUM-BASE POWDERS AND PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF THE SAME

Hydrogenated titanium powder produced by the hydrogen embrittlement of titanium or its alloy, characterized in that the maximum particle diameter is substantially 150 .mu.m or below and that thecontent of particles having a diameter of 10 .mu.m or below is 8 % by weight or below; and titanium powder produced by dehydrogenating the hydrogenated titanium powder, characterized in that the maximum particle diameter is substantially 150 .mu.m and that the content of particles having a diameter of 10 .mu.m or below is 5 % by weight or below. The titanium powder is lowered in oxygen content and chlorine content and exhibits excellent fluidity and compactibility, thus being useful particularly as the raw material in producing titanium sinter or titanium alloy articles by powder metallurgy.
