1527563 Aluminium salts of propionic acid derivatives UPJOHN CO 17 Nov 1976 [15 Dec 1965] 47813/76 Heading C2C Compounds I in which either R 1 is i-Bu and R 2 is H or R 1 is Ph and R 2 is F, x is 0 to 2 and y is 1 to 3, provided that x + y is 3, are prepared by reacting an aqueous suspension or dispersion of 2-(4-isobutylphenyl)propionic acid or 2-(2-fluoro-4-biphenylyl)propionic acid with an aqueous solution of an aluminium acid salt, in the presence of a base. Preferably, sufficient NaOH is added to an aqueous suspension of the acid to dissolve the acid and an aqueous solution of aluminium nitrate is added to the resultant solution. The products have anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-pyretic activities and may be included in pharmaceutical compositions. |
