An endoscope with an endoscope lens system, and a drying agent that is inserted in the mounting space for the endoscope lens system and fixed in position there, is described. The invention is characterized by the drying agent having the form of a plurality of spheres (5) and/or rod-shaped elements, which are inserted into one or more recesses (4) in the mounting space, and fixed in place by one or more fastening elements, that touch the spheres or rod-shaped elements on only part of their surface.
