The plate has a drive (18) to adjust it in the longitudinal direction and the backrest has another drive (22) to adjust its tilt. Both are controlled from an electronic device (58), which has a store for data for ergonomic longitudinal and tilt positions dependent on the user and there is a button (62) to activate this ergonomic arrangement. The plate has a third drive (30) to adjust its height and a fourth drive to adjust its tilt. These are also activated by the electronic control unit using stored data. The backrest has a head rest which again has a drive activated by the control unit using stored data.
