The invention concerns firstly closure clips (10') for sachets or film tubes ends in a chain with a uniform cross-sectional contour and two mutually engageable ends for closing the clip in which the closure clips (10') have protruding sections (16) mutually aligned between the ends on the outer contour (18) and join only in the region of said protruding sections so that the latter form a continuous web. The invention also concerns a device for closing such clips, especially a chain of clips of the invention, with mutually engageable free ends, in which said device has a die with a recess into which an unclosed clip can be inserted so as not to turn, the die can be moved towards and away from a closing matrix and the matrix has deflecting means for at least one of the free ends of the clip in order to engage both ends when the die and closing matrix are moved together. The invention also relates to a process for closing clips, especially in a chain of closure clips of the invention, in which an open clip suspended on the chains is taken to a die of a closing device, the die with the clip is then moved to a closing matrix and the closure clip is meanwhile separated from the chain, the open clip is then moved by the die above the sachet end to be closed in order to accept the clip and the free ends (12, 14) of the clip are then linked together via deflecting means (50) in the closing matrix (52) and mutually engaged.
