The monitoring system is configured then distributed from the administration nodes to autonomous agents. An autonomous agent is installed at each of the nodes to be monitored, treating different object types on the system or global objects in a generic manner or sending the information for display on the graphical interface of the administration node. Each agent has a number or specific modules measuring the static and dynamic parameters particular to types of object it monitors. The agent collects the measures tests against various thresholds and triggers actions if these thresholds are crossed. The conditions and actions can be modified by the central administrator.
