PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stable image by specifying the amount of developer which is taken in a developer container from the downstream side of a developing pole with respect to the amount of the developer which reaches a developing area after cutting the bristles of a magnetic brush to specified height. SOLUTION: The developer in a developing chamber 13 is carried on a sleeve 3 by the action of the magnetic pole for carrying, that is, the draw-up pole S2 of a magnet 10 incorporated in a developing sleeve 3. The developer carried and fed by the sleeve 3 is compressed by a developer returning member 1 regulating a developer accumulation part 5 and fed to the developing area after the layer thickness of the developer is regulated by a blade 2. The developer left without being submitted for development in the developing area is fed to the chamber 13 again by the sleeve 3 through a take-in magnetic pole S3 , and is scraped and recovered in the chamber 13 from the sleeve 3 by repulsive magnetic poles S3 -S2 . In such a case, the amount of the developer which reaches the pole S3 to the developer container 8 from the developing area is 1.1 to 1.7 times as large as the amount of the developer which reaches the developing area after cutting the bristles of the magnetic brush to the specified height, so that the carrying ability and the image stability of the developer become excellent. |
