PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diagnose a cache memory only by measuring cache access time. SOLUTION: First of all, cache operation is stopped, test data are set to a cache object memory 110, and a cache diagnostic program 102 is loaded from a ROM 101 to a memory 103 out of cache object. The cache diagnostic program starts the cache operation and accesses a cache corresponding to the test data and a time measuring means 109 measures its time. The measure time is held in a time storage means 105 and compared with a normal time value 104 so that the cache can be diagnosed. |
