PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner having high reliability wherein noise is reduced by suppressing whistling sound due to a fan guard or chattering sound and preventing invasion of, for example, a small article into its interior even if the article falls into an air outlet by receiving it by a fan guard. SOLUTION: The air conditioner comprises a unit body 1 having a heat exchanger and a blower 5 disposed therein and an air outlet 7 provided at its upper part, a horizontal louver 6 provided in the outlet to alter a wind direction of a vertical direction of diffusing wind and a longitudinal louver 19 disposed at a windward side of the horizontal louver to alter a wind direction of a lateral direction of the wind, and a fan guard 25 arranged near a windward side of the horizontal louver.
