PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the energy density of a battery, and to realize a high capacity and a high service life, by making a lithium nickelate cobalt, and having a crystal structure of an amorphous type, as a positive electrode active material, in a nonaqueous solution battery. SOLUTION: The cobalt content in this amorphous lithium nickelate is made 2 to 60mol% to the total amount of the nickel and the cobalt, preferably. It is preferably to manufacture by containing phosphorous in the lithium nickelate positive electrode active material containing the cobalt. That is, it is manufactured by mixing a nickel hydroxide or a nickel oxyhydroxide containing the cobalt, a lithium salt, and a phosphate, and then, by applying a heat treatment. In this case, the lithium salt and the phosphate may be mixed as a solution. And it is preferable that the x-ray diffraction peak of this active material is more than 2θ=0.5 deg. as the half value width of the (003) surface of (CuK2 ). In the positive electrode using such an active material, the discharge capacity is large, and the discharge performance is generated continuously. |
