PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the coloring density of magenta from varying depending on the emission intensity of a yellow ultraviolet lamp. SOLUTION: A gradation strobe data for magenta is written on a LUT (lookup table) 42 for each emission intensity of an yellow ultraviolet lamp 27a. At the time of recording an yellow image, a UV sensor 30 measures the emission intensity of the yellow UV lamp 27a. At the time of recording a magenta image, a gradation strobe data corresponding to a measured emission intensity is selected and a thermal head 26 is driven with a pulse width based on the gradation strobe data thus performing gradation heating. Thermal energy being imparted to a color thermal recording paper 10 is regulated depending on the emission intensity of the yellow UV lamp 27a and the variation in the coloring density of magenta due to yellow UV rays is corrected. |
