PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubbing device capable of executing a rubbing treatment free from the unequal display of LCD by eliminating the influence of the deflection of a rubbing roller by the gravity on forcing-in pressure. SOLUTION: A rubbing treatment is executed by the perpendicular relative movement perpendicular to the gravity direction and parallel with the substrate surface of the revolving rubbing roller 11 which is fixed to a stage 13 in such a manner that the revolving shaft of the rubbing roller 1 is held in parallel with the gravity direction 16 and the liquid crystal oriented film surface of the substrate 12 is held in parallel with the gravity direction and the substrate 12 which comes into contact with the rubbing roller 11 under a prescribed pressure. |
