PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a food additive capable of regulating concentrations, etc., of various ions in a food and improving the taste in addition to purifying actions by including at least a heavy part of a baked granular ore containing vermiculite in a powdery state therein. SOLUTION: A food additive is obtained by baking a granular ore containing vermiculite such as a weathering product, etc., containing the vermiculite and a granite as a raw ore, sorting at least a heavy part from the resultant baked product, pulverizing the sorted heavy part into a powdery state and classifying the prepared powder having preferably about 15-300μm particle diameter. The resultant food additive is useful for regulating the pH, redox potential and electric conductivity of treated water, various ion concentrations, etc., in water and is added to a soft drink, liquors, Miso [a fermented soybean (or rice) paste], say sauce, sugar, etc. |
