PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reflection type liquid crystal display panel which is bright and has a high contrast by holding supertwisted nematic(STN) liquid crystal layers and phase difference plates between one sheet of polarizing plate and a reflection film and compensating the dependence on incident and exit angles by specifying the Z coefft. of a phase difference plate. SOLUTION: The STN liquid crystal layers 7 twisted from 180 to 260 deg. are sandwiched between one sheet of the polarizing plate 10 and a mirror reflection film 3, and the phase difference plates 8, 9 are arranged between the polarizing plate 10 and the STN liquid crystal layers 7.
