PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording card which allows the easy recording of information but makes the erasing and rewriting of the information intended for forgery infeasible as the erasing and rewiring of the recorded information are hard or impossible and the magnetic recording method. SOLUTION: This magnetic card has a first magnetic layer 2 and a second magnetic layer 3 on a substrate 1. In such a case, the magnetic material contained in the first magnetic layer 2 has the compsn. expressed by the general formula Rx T100-x-y My . The magnetic material contained in the first magnetic layer 2 has the coercive force higher than the coercive force of the magnetic material contained in the second magnetic layer 3. In the formula, R denotes >=1 kinds selected from rare earth elements indispensably consisting of Sm and contg. Y, T is 1 kind selected from transition metals (Fe, Co, Ni) essentially consisting of Co; M is 1 kinds among Si, Ti, Al, Ga, V, Cr, Mn, Cu, Zr, Nb, Mo, Pd, Hf, Ta, W, Pt and Au. The compsn. value (x) of R is in a range of 16.0 to 22.0at.% and the compsn. value (y) of M is in a range of 0<=y<=30(at.%). |
