PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning member capable of assuring edge accuracy of <=1μm at all times without the occurrence of a blade peeling over a long period of time and surely preventing cleaning defects, and a process for producing the same. SOLUTION: The process for producing the cleaning member by allowing a cleavage type solid lubricant having an average grain size of <=1μm to exist in the section which is at least at the front end of the cleaning member and is pressed to a photoreceptor and the cleaning member allowing the cleavage type solid lubricant having the average grain size of <=1μm to exist over the entire part of the coating part to be pressed to the photoreceptor has a stage for uniformly dispersing the cleavage type solid lubricant into a release agent or volatile solvent, then uniformly applying or spraying the dispersion onto a cleaning blade forming surface and a stage for injecting the blade material into metal molds for molding and molding the cleaning blade.
