PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image compositing device which can reduce circuit scale. SOLUTION: Encoding data streams of A and B areas which come from reproducing devices 11 and 12 are supplied to respective decoders 13 and 14. The decoders 13 and 14 decode the inputted encoding data streams. External synchronization data from a synchronization circuit 15 is given to the decoder 13 and also to a delaying circuit 21. The circuit 21 delays the external synchronization data by 1/2 field period and gives it to the decoder 14. The decoders 13 and 14 output a decoding output with a timing of the inputted external synchronization data. Thereby, restoration image data from the decoder 14 is outputted with 1/2 field period delay from the corresponding restoration image data of the decoder 13. That is, an original high definition image can be acquired by an image compositing circuit 17, without delaying an output of the decoder 14 by using an external circuit. |
