PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the thermal efficiency of a surface heater by providing a heating main body which is woven with glass fibers, carbon fibers and electrode conductors, providing combining agent combining the aforesaid materials with one another, and also providing thermal reflecting material. SOLUTION: A heating body 10 is woven with carbon fibers 11, glass fibers 12 and conductors 13, the fibers 12 re woven up as warp threads and wept threads, the fibers 11 are woven in at prescribed intervals, and furthermore the conductors 13 which are turned out to be electrodes, are woven in as warp threads at both ends of the body so as to be formed into the body. In a surface heater 1, insulating resin sheets 15 and 16 are laminated from both the surface sides of the body 10, and furthermore thermal reflecting material 18 is provided over one sheet 16. By this constitution, when electric power is supplied to the body 10, heat is transmitted upward from the sheet 15 side of the body 10 by way of the sheet 15. On the other hand, heat from the surface at the sheet 16 side of the body 10 is transmitted to the reflection material 18, however it is reflected by the reflection material 18 so as to be transmitted to the sheet 15 side. By this constitution, heat from the body 10 is most efficiently reflected so as to be surely transmitted to one surface side. |
