PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable sufficient removal of fine suspended substances by removing the suspended substances in heat storage water using a membrane module element. SOLUTION: Part of heat storage water 5 which is cooled/heated by a cool/ hot water generator 4 and heat-exchanged by a heat exchanger 2 is returned to a heat accumulation tank 1, and another part is passed through a membrane module element 3 to filter the heat storage water. The element 3 is equipped with separation membranes for removing suspended substances, and the filtrate from which the suspended substances obtained by passing the heat storage water 5 are removed is returned to the tank 1. It is preferable to use a hollow fiber membrane module element equipped with hollow fiber membrane having an average pore size of 0.01-1μm, or more preferably 0.1-0.5μm. When polyolefin hollow fiber membranes of high strength and elongation are used, the heat storage water can be filtered stably for a long period with service life extended.
