PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obviate the occurrence of color differences by the variations in film thicknesses by using lustrous materials and coloring pigments alone by specifying the lightness of a gray color primer coating film, the pigment volumetric concn. of the lustrous material of a metallic coating film and the light ray transmittance at a specific wavelength to specific values. SOLUTION: The lightness (L value) of the gray color primer coating film of the metallic coating film structure which is formed by laminating the low concealable metallic coating film contg. the lustrous material on the gray color primer coating film and in which the color difference is <=1.5 in a range of <=15μm in the film thickness difference of the metallic coating film is set at 35 to 90 and is set in a range within the L value + 35 of the desired metallic coating film. The metallic coating film contains the lustrous material at least at 0.1% in the pigment volumetric concn. and is a through-color having the light ray transmittance of 30 to 60% measured in the wavelength region of the metallic coating film color at a wavelength of 400 to 700nm in the dry film thickness of at least 10μm.
