In obtaining maximum power, the side gear turbine according to figure (6) orientates the blades in such a way that they all contribute to the effective torque. The result is greater usable power or measurement accuracy than existing models. The unit described may be used in dynamic so-called speed systems or according to figure (7) in volumetric systems. The turbine according to the invention makes it possible to construct wind turbines, aeroplane propellers, water turbines, pumps, extremely compact positive displacement indicators and compressors for any fluid.<IMAGE>
