摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain stable dimensional accuracy and to prevent failure of biting with a rolling mill caused by defects in shape by improving the deterioration in cross-sectional shape due to variation in temp. and the defects in shape of a base material. SOLUTION: This controller for rolling mills is provided with a schedule target outlet-side cross-sectional area setting device 4 for presetting the target cross-sectional area value SOR of steel after the completion of pass by a pass schedule and a roll gap correcting device 5 for calculating the correction value of roll gap from the cross-sectional area value SOR of steel after the completion of pass set with the schedule target outlet-side cross-sectional area setting device 4 and a cross-sectional area value SO after rolling calculated with an outlet-side cross-sectional area calculating device 3 and outputting the value. Then, the operability of the controller for rolling mills is improved.</p>
