PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely suppress a slide of a V-belt in spite of a change in a change gear ratio. SOLUTION: A V-belt type continuously variable transmission comprises a drive pulley 16 to vary the contact pulley width of a V-belt 5 consisting of a number of elements and a driven pulley 26; a pulley thrust generating means 100 to energize a drive pulley and a drive pulley in a direction in which the pulley widths of the drive pulley 16 and the driven pulley 26 are contracted; and a gear shift control means 101 to vary and control a pulley width based on a change gear ratio according to the operation state of a vehicle. The pulley thrust generating means 100 is formed such that provided transmission torque is T, pulley thrust in a direction in which a pulley width is reduced is Q, and the running radius of the V-belt is (r), a value of T÷(Q×r) is set to a higher value with the decrease of the change gear ratio to the LO side. |
