A tachograph has a recording pen (6) for recording vehicle information as a trace on a chart (3). The pen (6) is additionally controlled, by a microprocessor, a solenoid and a motor, so as to make markings (18), such as letters, numerals or bar codes, for identifying the driver. The pen (6) is supported in a carriage (7) on parallel rails (8 a ), (8 b ). Alternatively (FIG 4), the identifying marks may be made by tilting the pen with a solenoid. |
