A door positioning hinge has a first hinge leaf 12, with knuckles 18 and 20, a hinge leaf with a detent knuckle 60 provided with four recesses in opposed pairs on the inner surface 62, and a pin assembly 15 having a hinge pin 17, an insert 19 and a spring 21. A cavity may be provided within the insert for the spring 21 which may be elastomeric, circular, sinusoidal, helical or integral with the insert and which biasses the sides of the insert outwards to engage the surface 62. The pin is keyed at 81. On rotation the side of the insert 19 releasably engages the recesses in the surface 62 to retain the door in predetermined angular positions. Hinge covers may be provided which have protrusions which engage in the cavities 32 and 56 provided in the hinge leaves. |
