The device has an interface (S) for matching the unit with a telecommunications network (N). There is a network interface (LI) for transmission and reception of video information and text information via the internet, and of speech information. The video and text information are displayed on a monitor screen (MON), while the speech information is fed to a loudspeaker (L), having been received from a microphone (M). The received video information can be stored in a memory (MEM), with a coder/decoder (CO/DE) used for converting the video information from one format into a different video format. |
