The ring consists of one section in the shape of a claw (16) to ensure a static seal and a curved section (15) which makes a dynamic seal and has a varying radius of curvature (R1, R2, R3), all in the same direction. The curved section of the seal is designed to fit against a rigid component forming a seal recess. The two sections (15, 16) of the seal ring are joined by a straight segment (20) which forms an angle of less than 130 degrees with the claw, and the variation in the radius of the curved section can be either continuous or discontinuous.
