Equipment for continuous prodn. and storage of coilable semi-flexible plastic pipe includes an extruder (2) and a pipe wind-up unit (4). A storage device (1) between the extruder (2) and wind-up unit (4) continues to take off extruded pipe (3) from the extruder (2) when the wind-up unit (4) is halted temporarily. Pref. the intermediate storage unit (1) comprises a motorised drum (6) on which the extruded pipe (3) forms loose coils. The outer periphery of the drum is formed by freely rotating rolls (8) parallel to the drum axis. A guiding rake guides individual windings of the pipe (3) around the drum (6). Expansion of the windings on the drum (6) during stoppage of the wind-up unit (4) is prevented by bars, more pref. freely rotating rolls (9) at a radial distance from the drum rolls (8). |
