SILICA-REINFORCED RUBBER COMPOSITION AND TIRE HAVING ITS TREAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition excellent in strength, resilience, hardness and abrasion resistance after curing and useful for tire having rubber tread by blending a diene-based rubber with a specific filler and silica coupler at a specific ratio. SOLUTION: This rubber composition is obtained by blending (A) 100 pts.wt. diene-based rubber with (B) 25-100 pts.wt. filler comprising fine-particle precipitated silica (B1 ) and carbon black (B2 ) and having >=0.1/1 weight ratio of components B1 /B2 and (C) a silica coupler which is poly-(2-propanol-1,3- polysulfide)(C1 ) having 2-6 sulfur number of atoms in polysulfide bridges or a mixture of 95-25wt.% component C1 with 5-75wt.% bis-(3-trialkoxysilylalkyl) poly-sulfide(C2 ) corresponding to the component C1 so that a weight ratio of the components C/B1 is (0.01/1) to (0.2/1).
