PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar display device in which the thickness of the device and the size of the frames are greatly reduced. SOLUTION: A planar display device 1 is provided with a display panel 100, a circuit board 491 which is arranged in the back side of the panel 100 and a tape carrier.package 400-1 which electrically connects the panel 100 and the board 491. The package 401-1 includes a first region 411 which is electrically connected to the panel 100, a second region 415 on which a driving element 413 is mounted and a third region 417 which is electrically connected to the board 491. The regions 411 and 415 are constituted so that they are folded to make an acute angle between them.
