PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a composite powder in which segregation of graphite powder is prevented and graphite powder coating is uniformized at the time of mixing graphite powder and metal powder or metallic oxide powder. SOLUTION: Graphite powder of 0.1-100μm average grain size is dispersed in a liquid, and the graphite powder in the dispersion liquid and metal or metallic oxide powder of 5-1,000μm average grain size are mixed frictionally in the state where a static pressure of (0.01 to 1,000)kgf/cm<2> maximum value is applied, and these powders are brought into contact or allowed to collide with each other, by which the surface of the metal or metallic oxide powder is uniformly coated with the graphite powder. The resultant composite powder is a powder free from scattering of graphite and excellent in fluidity, electric conductivity, compactibility, etc.
