PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sintered and crystallized glass article having a pattern, a color, a touch, etc., which are different from those of conventional articles, showing a different appearance and capable of responding to various kinds of requirements by dispersing a clay mineral as an aggregate in an unglazed ceramic material containing crystallized glass and amorphous glass, molding the dispersion and subsequently sintering the molded product. SOLUTION: (a) The crystallized glass includes glass in which crystals such asβ-wollastonite or diopside as main crystals are deposited. (b) The amorphous glass includes soda-lime glass and lead glass. (c) The clay mineral includes kaolin and bentonite. The components (a), (b) and (c) are compounded in amounts of 5-85wt.%, 5-85wt.% and 10-50wt.%, respectively. The sintered and crystallized glass article is produced by molding a mixture comprising the components (a) and (b) having an average particle diameter of <=2mm in a (a):(b) ratio of 9:1-1:9, 10-50wt.% of the component (c) and 0.1-25wt.% of an inorganic pigment by a molding method such as a press-molding method or an extrusion method and subsequently sintering the molded product at 1000-1100 deg.C.
