PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To visually recognize a residual amount of ink from outside by a method wherein a transparent material is used for at least a part of an ink case, and an inner wall of an ink tank of this part is recessed for a small gap part with which a sponge does not come in contact. SOLUTION: A transparent material is used only for at least a residual amount display part 7 of an ink tank 3. Then, an ink tank inner wall 3a of the residual amount display part 7 is formed in a recessed part 3b state uniformly over the whole area of the residual amount display part 7 so that a gap can be formed between a sponge 4 and the inner wall 3a. An residual ink liquid surface 8a gradually drops from an upside of the ink tank 3 following continuation of recording operation, and ink 8 oozes out between the sponge 4 and the inner wall 3a of the ink tank. Further, since air 9 flows into this gap from a part wherein the ink 8 of the sponge 4 is gone, an ink level between the sponge 4 and the ink tank inner wall 3a always follows the residual ink 8 amount. Therefore, an approximately residual amount of the ink in the ink tank 3 can be displayed. |
