FIELD: protection of rolling stands, mainly of cogging and thick sheet rolling mills from technological overloads. SUBSTANCE: safety device of rolling stand includes elastic member in the form of ring made of elastomer, for example of polyurethane. In order to compensate non-uniform widening of device along its height at pressing down upon tuning or operating, generatrices of lateral surfaces are in the form of second-order curves turned by their convex portions one to another. In order to eliminate cross deformation of ring and to increase its rigidity it is placed in grooves provided in mutually turned surfaces of discs mounted with possibility of mutual motion along common axis and simultaneously engaging with motion limiter in the form of rod, for example of flanged rod whose flange engages with inner surface of one disc. The rod itself engages with other disc by means of threaded joint for holding said elastic member between said discs in prestressed state. EFFECT: increased rigidity of rolling stand, enhanced accuracy of safety device operating, high quality of rolled stock, emergency-free operation of rolling equipment. 4 cl, 2 dwgg
