FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: medical needle is destroyed by passing electric current through its sections. Current melts down separate zones of needle. Syringe with unburned remainder of needle is sealed due to melting of this remainder end. Prior to passing the current, needle section is secured at its end by fixing members which act on needle with force symmetrical relative to needle axis. Needle destruction begins with this secured section. Device has body, inlet seat, cylindrical zone of needle location, current source, end electrode connected to first pole of current source and mounted for introduction into location zone on the side opposite to inlet seat. Device has sealing appliance provided with two electrodes connected to different poles of current of current source, combined with needle fixing members, positioned together with remaining fixing members with shift relative to each other in direction of location zone axis, and mounted for introduction into this zone. Needle fixing members are made as metal plates facing each other with their long sides and installed on common base in pairs, in symmetry with plane passing through needle location zone axis in parallel to direction of relative displacement of this zone and base and spring-loaded in direction of this plane.
