IMPROVED DIPOLE MOMENT DETECTOR AND LOCALIZER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for deciding the position of a magnetic dipole by detecting the dipole by using a group of spatially distributed magnetic sensors. SOLUTION: After the actually measured values of one set of magnetic fields generated from of a magnetic dipole are collected by using a plurality of magnetic sensors 11 (step 21), the position of the dipole is presumed (step 22) and the measured values of the magnetic fields which are estimated to be generated from the magnetic dipole at the presumed position are decided (step 23). Then the actually measured values of the magnetic fields are compared with the presumed measured values of the magnetic fields (step 24.) The step (step 26) repeating steps 22 and 24 to all presumed positions within the detecting range of the magnetic sensors 11 is included.
