<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically measure the appearance frequency of a filterable microorganism in water purification. SOLUTION: This monitor is formed with a microscope 6 for observing the sample of test water, an ITV camera 7 for picking up the image of the microscope, a picture recognizer 9 of model-based matching system for receiving the picture signal from the camera 7, identifying the diatoms as a filtration obstructing microorganism and counting the microorganism and a sequencer 3 for automatically changing the visual field of the microscope by automatically moving a stage 2 carrying the sample in the XY direction. Since the stage 2 is controlled in the XY direction by the sequencer 3, the pictures in the specified number of visual fields are collected by the ITV camera 7. The aggregate (edge) of the points with the luminance changing greatly from that of the gradation picture is sampled by the recognizer 9 for each of the visual-field pictures and collated with the previously registered feature model to specify the species of the microorganism in the inputted picture and to recognize the number.</p> |
