POINTER PROCESSOR IN SDH TRANSMITTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To serially process a pointer by holding various kinds of information group obtained from multiplex data in a pointer extracting part and a pointer processing part in RAM at every channel in accordance with the addresses from an address generating part. SOLUTION: The address generating part 1 assigns the addresses to the respective channels of inputted multiplex data. The pointer extracting part 2 extracts a pointer byte which at least includes H1 byte or V1 byte and H2 byte or V2 byte. RAM 4 holds the information group indicated by the point bytes of the respective channgels extracted from multiplex data which is obtained in the extracting part 2 and the pointer processing part 3, the information group being necessary for starting pointer action by the received pointer byte and the information group as the result of action starting in an area which is indicated by the address generated in the generating part 1. Thus, multiplex data is not separated at every channgel so that a pointer processing is executed for input multiplex data.
