PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain sodium percarbonate excellent in abrasion resistance and solubility by bringing a suspension or a solution of sodium carbonate into contact with an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide under a specific condition in a reactor. SOLUTION: This sodium percarbonate consists of aggregates of fine crystals of sodium percarbonate specified by (a) 600μm average particle size of the aggregates, (b) 0.75g/cm<3> -1.1g/cm<3> apparent density of the aggregates and (c) >=14% active oxygen content. This production of new sodium percarbonate is to bring a suspension or an aqueous solution (4, 13) of sodium carbonate into contact with an aqueous solution (3, 14) of hydrogen peroxide. The above- mentioned fine crystals of sodium percarbonate are held in a suspension state by a rising stream of the supersaturated aqueous solution of sodium percarbonate having 2-20m/h linear rising velocity.
