FIELD: microbiological industry, provitamins. SUBSTANCE: yeast strain Rhodotorula glutinis is isolated from soil and deposited in All-Russia Collection of industrial microorganisms at N VKPM Y-2210. In the process of culturing the strain on nutrient medium involving carbon, nitrogen sources and mineral salts under submerged conditions the obtained biomass has 1450-1500 mcg/g carotinoids. EFFECT: increased yield of carotinoids.
