PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type liquid crystal display device with presentation function whose handleability is excellent, and which is compact and whose cost is low. SOLUTION: A signal light detecting element is formed at the pixel electrode substrate or the common electrode substrate or the like of the liquid crystal panel 1 of the projection type liquid crystal display device, and signal light outputted from the top end of a projection screen instructing bar 14 is image- formed on the surface of the liquid crystal panel 1 by a projection lens 3, so that the signal light is detected by the liquid crystal panel 1. Also, a liquid crystal panel driving circuit 8 controls video signal contents supplied to the liquid crystal panel 1 by inputting the signal light. The liquid crystal panel 1 and the panel driving circuit 8 or the like are combined, so that projection screen control such as the change of a projection screen or composition with other information is made possible by the operation of the projection screen instructing bar 14. |
