PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is effectively applicable as the display device of a portable information apparatus having many changes of being carried and used outdoors, lessens reflection and makes and display easily visible. SOLUTION: This device is constituted by respectively adhering and fixing polarizing plates 2a and 2b' to both surfaces of a liquid crystal cell 1; a front surface on which back light is made incident and a front surface which makes display. In such a case, an antireflection plate 3 formed with an antireflection coating 32 by a sol-gel method on at least front surface of a transparent substrate 31 of a transparent acrylic resin is arranged on the front surface side of the liquid crystal cell 1 in tight contact with the front surfaces of the polarizing plates 2a, 2b' or by interposing an air layer between the polarizing plates 2a, 2b' and the substrate. |
