PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to efficiently and accurately post-edit the result of translation by allowing a dictionary function to function through the use of information used at the time of translation. SOLUTION: A translation objective sentence is inputted from an input part 14 or a document file 12a in an external storage device 12. The inputted character strings are housed in an input buffer for translation 10. A translation processing part 16 translates the character strings housed in the buffer 10 into Japanese by using a translation dictionary 18. After finishing translation, the part 16 sets a translating result to an output buffer for translation 26. At the same time of this, the part 16 writes a part of information used as internal information at the time of translation processing in a linked data housing buffer 24. Data housed in the buffer 24 is referred to for effectively utilizing the result of translation processing at the time of starting a dictionary function by a dictionary function part 30 after translation processing. |
