PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the phase detection circuit in which sampling equivalent to resolution twice that of the clock signal is attained without doubling the clock frequency. SOLUTION: An input waveform 11 is given to a sampling circuit 14, in which the waveform is sampled by using a clock 12a in phase to a clock signal 12 to generate a sampling waveform 13 and the input waveform 11 is given to a sampling circuit 15, in which the waveform is sampled at a trailing edge with respect to the clock 12 by using an inverted clock 12b to generate an output signal 18, a sampling circuit 16 samples the output signal 18 at the leading edge of the sampling waveform 13 to generate a phase detection flag 17, and based on the phase detection flag 17, the presence of the input waveform 11 is detected at the trailing edge of the clock 12 just before the input waveform 11 is sampled by the 1st sampling circuit 14. |
