PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient and inexpensive drive circuit for a compressor using a single-phase induction motor. SOLUTION: The photodiode 3A of a photo TRIAC coupler d3 is connected to the compressor control terminals 4A and 4B of a microcomputer which controls the outdoor unit of an air conditioner, and it is supplied with a control signal required for a proper operation of a compressor geared to the operation state of the air conditioner. The photodiode 3A changes the quantity of light emission, according to the magnitude of the control signal supplied, and according to the quantity of received light, a photo TRIAC 3B changes the current- carrying phase angle of the TRIAC 2, corresponding to the digital signals in several stages. As a result, the single-phase induction motor 1 is impressed with the voltage corresponding to the current-carrying angle of the TRIAC 2, and it is supplied with a current required for a proper operation of the compressor geared to the operation state of the air conditioner. |
