PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device where the deterioration of image quality such as the fogging of developer and the unstableness of density is not caused. SOLUTION: A toner hopper 43 is provided on the upside of a developing chamber 44 equipped with a developing roller 40, a doctor blade 41, a toner replenishing roller 39 and a toner residual amount detecting means. A discharge port 50 is provided at the lower part of the toner hopper 43, and a toner supply member 48 for supplying toner is turnably arranged at the upper part of the port 50. A light emitting element 45B and a light receiving element 45C for detecting the residual amount of the toner are provided on the upside in the chamber 44. In the case the residual amount of the toner becomes the fixed one, the member 48 is turned to supply the fixed amount of the toner to the chamber 44 from the port 50. |
