PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system of a mobile object and the remote control method in which a limitation of a distance between a control section and the mobile object is considerably relaxed and a current location of the mobile object is recognized to move it to a controllable position. SOLUTION: In the remote control system controlling the drive of the mobile object remotely, a control section 1 controlling the mobile body 5 remotely is provided with a communication data converter 2 and a notebook personal computer 3 connecting to a public network 4. Then the mobile object 5 to be controlled is provided with a mobile communication terminal equipment 6 using the public network 4, a motor or the like driving the mobile object 5 in response to the signal received by the mobile object communication terminal equipment 6, and an operation command device 8 that sends an operation command to the motor or the like driving the mobile object 5 and a device mounted on the mobile object 5, and sends status monitor information and operation end information received from the motor or the like driving the mobile object 5 and the device mounted on the mobile object 5 to the mobile communication terminal equipment 6.
