<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical thermal decomposition reactor which exhibits an excellent heat transfer efficiency, enables a smooth operation thus enhancing its processing ability, reduces a space for its installation, and enables a compact construction thereof. SOLUTION: A vertical thermal decomposition reactor comprises a heater 27 which is made of a helical face 28 for moving a waste (a) from the upper portion to the lower portion in sequence and a heating medium passage 29 which is provided along the helical face 28 so as to flow the heated air (i) for heating and thermally decomposing the waste (a) by way of the helical face 28, vibrating means for moving the waste (a) along the helical face 28 by vibrating the heater 27 and heated medium supply means for supplying the heated air (i) into the heating medium passage 29 of the heater 27. The heating medium supply means can supply the heated air (i) into the heating medium passage 29 of the heater 27 by way of a plurality of portions, while an upper and intermediate exhaust openings 5, 6 are formed in the upper and intermediate portions of the heater 27 for discharging the thermally decomposed gases G1 , G' respectively.</p> |
